Universal Infant Free School Meals, Lincolnshire

The government is funding schools in England to provide every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 with a nutritious meal at lunch time. The aim is to improve academic attainment and save families money.

Universal free school meals for primary school pupils were a key recommendation in the School Food Plan, which was produced independently for the Department for Education.

The plan also reported that packed lunches were nearly always less nutritious than a cooked meal and that giving all children free lunches would benefit academic standards.

Good Lookin Cookin Ordering System

We have updated our ordering system to work with the Universal Infant Free School Meals policy and the existing rules for FSM eligibility.

Children that are registered in a school year that qualifies for FSM, will be automatically validated as eligible.

For children that are not entitled to the Universal Infant Free School Meals policy but meet the existing rules for FSM eligibility. Their accounts will be authorised after their entitlement has been validated by a member of the Good Lookin Cookin team and the school administrator. This normally takes between 1-2 working days.
