- 1 onion
- 1.8kg (4lbs) tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
Peel and slice the onion finely.
Chop the tomatoes.
Heat the oil in a large pan, add the onion and cook until soft.
Add the tomatoes and mixed herbs, cover and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat to low, partially cover the pan with a lid and cook gently for about an hour.
Sieve the tomato sauce to get rid of any skins.
Pour over the meatballs and spaghetti.
